What Are Charms and Charm Bracelets?

Charm bracelets have been around for hundreds of years. However the phenomena for how to wear them has grown and improved significantly in recent times. These were the first of the modern charms and they came out during the 1970s. These charms had been engineered to conform to a specific threaded system employed by that company. Pandora is an example of a charm manufacturer who employed threads in their charms and bracelets. This meant that their charms would not fit onto other companies' bracelets. This also ensures that all Pandora charms are fitted securely to their bracelets.

In addition, nearly all charm makers incorporate supplementary "clips". These are a thinner style of charm that remain in a set position on the bracelet. They are used as a technique of dividing up charms and keeping them from slipping around the bracelet. Other brands of modern charm jewellery include Blog by Aagaard, Chamilia and OHM.

These lines of charm bracelet have also turned out to be tremendously popular in Canada And America. The main appeal of these modern-day charm lines is the customization they offer. Bracelets are still available as chain links and these may take a limited assortment of dangling charms. The snake chain bracelets are more common and they can accommodate far more charms. Such bracelets are generally sold in polished silver, 14k gold, oxidised silver and leather.

The charms are also built from a selection of resources. This can produce great variations in sale price. Commonly, charms are produced from sterling silver. But they are also made with high quality gold and gemstones. Murano charms are made from glass that is handmade in Italy. These glass charms are available in a huge array of colours and are some of the most popular charms available.
