Baywatch And Fond Memories About The Most Watched Show On Earth

By Byron Jonas

You would be forgiven if you just landed on earth from another planet and you did not know about the TV hit show called Baywatch. However, for the citizens of earth, there is hardly a country in which the show has not been aired. Therefore, it is regarded one of the most popular series of all times.

This worldwide phenomenon is probably best known for its hot babes and hunky men strutting their stuff on one of California's beaches. Not only did the show highlight beautiful bodies both male and female however, but also brought the profession of life guarding to an all time high. Youngsters all over the world wanted to become lifeguards like Mitch Buchannon (David Hasselhoff), and many girls wanted to be just like J. C. Parker (Pamela Anderson).

The first show aired on television in 1990. However, the show was canceled for reasons such as Television stations closing down and the show not being popular with the audience at first. Fortunately, Hasselhoff's perseverance and who believed in the series helped revived it. It became an instant hit internationally.

The series was revived and became a hit internationally at first. Their popularity grew to such an extent that they were listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the most watch TV series in the world. They were recorded as having over 1 billion viewers per week.

With an ingenious plot and a mainstay lifeguard like Mitch Buchannon and his team, the show became an icon amongst young and old. The reason for its popularity however, was not just because of the great lifesaving scenes, but it had interpersonal relations centered around dangers on the beach and in the sea. This combination left people on the edge of their seats while being mesmerized by well-built people in eye-catching red bathing suits.

Once a week these actors took center stage in living rooms across the world and mesmerized people as they ran in slow motion with rescue-cans in hand and a look of urgency and determination of their faces. What could be more entertaining than a couple of well-built life guards warding off exploding bombs, rescuing people in earth quakes, catching serial killers and saving the odd pooch from drowning in the sea. The combination was set for life-long success.

Not only did the series entertain, but it also highlighted real lifeguards and what they are exposed to every day. People suddenly had more respect for them and started heading their warnings on the beaches around the world. This is all thanks to the show Baywatch.
