By Gregory Brooks

If you are one of the types staying away from playing Baccarat, one of the best casino games, thinking it a rich man's game, then you have been missing out on the pleasures of playing one of the best and most profitable casino games out there. It is a common misconception created out of the association of many celebrities with the game. Baccarat is one of the easiest casino games with great odds, which makes it a lucrative pastime. If you are captivated enough about the description of baccarat and its house edge, continue reading!

Casinos make money thorough what is known as house edge. At the end of every game, a percentage of the winning bet goes to the casino. This is called the house edge. So, the more the house edge, the lesser the amount to be won by the winner. Baccarat, in this respect has a very low house edge. Stick to the game for awhile, and you may end up making a decent profit as well. Baccarat is an easy game to master, unlike Deuces Wild video poker, and is hence a great way to make money quickly.

In high stake Baccarat, players deal the cards from a shoe, in turns. In mini Baccarat on the other hand, the dealer deals the cards, permitting more hands per hour. Typically, it's the dealer who plays the game, while players only bet. Since the dealer turns the cards, mini Baccarat is a faster game than Baccarat, though they both have the same odds. Cards are dealt to two sides; the Banker and the Player and the side that scores closest to nine wins the game. Since all the players do is bet, they just choose which side is going to win, without physically playing the game.

Bets can be made in three ways - either on the Banker, or the Player, or a tie between both. It would be ideal to bet on the Banker.

Note that a bet on the Banker carries a commission for the house. Here it is assumed to be 5%. The payback percentage is what the players as a whole get over the long term, and it is the remainder after the house edge is taken.

The house edge in Baccarat is 1.06% for the Banker, 1.24% for the Player, 14.40% for a tie or 4.84% for a tie if 9:1, 4.93% for eight decks and 6.38% for six decks.

When you consider every aspect of the description of baccarat and its house edge, you will appreciate that, evidently, betting on the banker is most beneficial owing to its low house edge. So, keep faith in the banker, and ignore other betting systems.

Baccarat is one of the most player-friendly casino games there is. Playing at full tables will give you the experience of low house edge in the game, though this obviously slows down the game. If you can spend some time to master the game, it will be fun, and help you earn some good money.

Casinos calculate the house edge as the average loss divided by the initial bet. Irrespective of the number of bets, only the first bet is included in house edge calculations. If a player is smart enough, he can calculate the house edge himself. However, keep in mind the description of baccarat and its house edge, which tells you that, if the average wagers are used to calculate the house edge, you may not arrive at the right odds.
