What are digital stamps?

A digital stamp often times called a digi stamp, is a type of line art that can be downloaded and printed from your computer devices. Many people use these stamps to make paper crafts and handmade cards. Digital stamps can be saved as jpeg files and instantly downloaded. Most of the time, digital stamps are inexpensive. You can even find some companies that offer freebies.

A digi can be resized an manipulated in programs such as Microsoft word and Photoshop which is one of the reasons people love them. You maybe asking what is the difference between a digi and a rubber stamp. Digital stamps are only the image and then printed on paper, where as a rubber stamp is a physical product that you stamp on paper. The great thing is you can color a digital stamp just like a rubber stamp.

How to color a digital stamp.

You can color your digital stamps with just about any marker you like. Many people just use colored pencils and crayons. Just make sure to heat set your stamp before coloring. This will help in preventing markers and ink from smearing together. If you like embellishing, you can use products such as stickles and glitter pens. Some people would rather shade using copic markers. There are available that will teach you how if you are unfamiliar with shading.

How to use digital stamps.

After printing your digi stamp, you can use it to create cards and paper crafts. There are two popular way to do this. One is to color your image, then cut closely around the image leaving a thin white border. The second method is to color the image and cut the digi stamp in the shape of either a circle or rectangle. This will make a really nice frame. Once either method is used, you can take card stock or patterned paper to stick your digi stamp on. Then just add a cute sentiment like "happy birthday" and you have just created a digital stamp card.
