Twenty Three - The Good Doctor's Halloween Costumes - Attained Lab Coat, Will Tease The Nurses

By Mathew Nathon

Your mother always insisted you go to medical school and begin a lucrative career as a physician, right? Become a doctor for an evening and make mom proud! Sure, your "lucrative" income for the evening may amount to a few tootsie rolls and some hors devour, but at least you got to wear a stethoscope and lab coat. nurse Halloween costumes do not have to be elaborate, and they allow plenty of room for personal touches.

If you want to look professional choose the traditional doctor costume with long white jacket, stethoscope hanging from the pocket. Add neat khaki pants and business shoes - or wear sneakers for comfort.

Add a few touches such as blood on the white lab coat and mussed up hair for the impression of a doctor far too busy with patients to worry about his own appearance. The basic costume is simple and easy to find. Adding just a few accessories is all you need before heading for the party or hitting the sidewalk to trick...and treat.

Props are a big plus for doctor Halloween costumes. Basic props could include stethoscopes, clipboards, or syringe needles. The tools you carry can send an even more terrifying message. Add a few curious looking metal tools, covered in blood. Maybe a large bone saw or a scalpel for those tricky incisions.

Create a personality for your doctor Halloween persona by choosing a name and perhaps a story. You could be Doctor Good, Doctor Death, Doctor Limb - or can use your own name. Choose a name by thinking of things a real doctor does when you visit him - and then warp it a bit.

Use a name to create a theme for doctor Halloween costumes. Doctor Love or Doctor Casanova work well with hair slicked back and a pair of ladies undies hanging from the pocket. This is a theme that can become as adult as you care to make it. Doctor Hacker might carry an arm or leg slung over his shoulder or carries a large bloody saw in his hands.

Make it a team Halloween by adding your spouse or a friend to complement your doctor costume. You can ""page"" each other all evening with walkie-talkies and have names that tell part of your story such as Doctor Cutup with Nurse Coverup. The comfort of wearing doctor Halloween costumes is an important consideration. Whether you are a doctor in family practice, a surgeon, or a twisted evil doctor looking for patients to practice on, surgical scrubs and lab coats are loose and comfortable. Parties and trick or treat nights are more enjoyable when you are not overheated or chafed by your costume.

By adding names and personalities to doctor Halloween costumes you can create unique and unusual characters. What doesn't change is the comfort of this clothing. After all, white lab coats and surgical scrubs are worn daily by real-life doctors. This is comfortable clothing that is easy to wear, easy to wash and won't be hot and itchy. The clothing for doctor Halloween costumes is also versatile. You can be a good doctor this year, a distracted doctor next year and a mad scientist the year after that. It's the perfect Halloween costume for people who don't like to shop. Edited by Hetsil Protage
