Panasonic Lumix ZS3 a Successful New Release

Panasonic has a long reputation for making some of the best small pocket zoom cameras. The latest model from Panasonic, the Lumix ZS3, is no different. In fact, this camera may just be one of the most impressive that Panasonic has released to date. The format for this model, dating back to the Lumix TZ1, has been quite successful. So successful, in fact, that even Canon stepped into the ring when they released the SX100 series and the follow-up SX200. Still, judging by the early reaction to this camera, it would seem as though Panasonic has hit another out of the park when it comes to the Lumix ZS3.

Consumers will be delighted with the wide range of features offered by the Panasonic DMC-ZS3, also known as the DMC-TZ7 in some markets. One of the first things you will no doubt notice about this camera is the 10.1 megapixel sensor. In addition, it features a 3" LCD a long with a 12x zoom that can flatten down to a 1.29" thick pocket camera. If you are looking for a camera with a lot of power that you can easily take anywhere, this could be just what you are looking for.

Despite those impressive features; however, the ZS3's interface is surprisingly simple. This is not a camera that will make you feel as though you need to spend a couple of weeks reviewing the manual in order to operate. On the flip side, if you are looking for advanced features, it has plenty of those, including movie making and scene modes.

There is not actually an optical viewfinder located on the Panasonic ZS3, but the 3" LCD offers 460,000 dots of resolution, which is quite a bit more than what is offered on many cameras. As a result, this camera is capable of producing incredible images.

There is an 11-point multi-area on the autofocus system which can be used with the default focusing method. Consumers who would prefer to utilize the option of selecting from half a dozen different modes do have that freedom.

The Panasonic Lumix ZS3 does not have semi-automatic or manual modes, but does feature Intelligent Auto and Program modes along with 28 different Scene modes.

The movie mode that is included in the new Panasonic ZS3 is one of the most talked about features. This mode gives consumers the ability to capture HD video at a whopping 60 frames per second. Furthermore, consumers can also capture video at 30 frames per second using the Motion JPEG.

SD/SDHC cards are used to store images with the Panasonic ZS3. Up to 45MB of internal memory can be used with this model. A standard USB 2.0 can also be used to connect the camera.

The Panasonic ZS3 uses SD/SDHC cards to store images. There is approximately 45MB of internal memory on this camera. You can also connect the camera using a standard USB 2.0. Power for the Lumix ZS3 is providing through a lithium-ion battery, offering enough power for about 300 shots.

Out of the box the Lumix ZS3 comes with a fairly good amount of items, including a battery charger, USB cable, wrist strap, A/V cable, manual and CD-ROM with PhotoFunStudio. Of course, there is also a variety of accessories that can be purchased to go along with the Lumix ZS3, but if you will likely find that just getting started, this camera has everything you need to start snapping photos right away.

Consumers who are looking for a camera that is high quality and can be taken anywhere without worrying about a lot of complexity will find the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 is an excellent option. Along with its simple interface, range of features and Panasonic's reliable reputation, this is a strong camera.
