Follow in the Footsteps of X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing Stars

By Steve Alexander

As soon as the calendar is turned to September, it is somewhat inevitable that Saturday nights will be over-run with a debate about which channel to watch. Families around the UK will be fighting for the remote control to watch either the X Factor or Strictly Come Dancing. Anyone who has taken inspiration from their favourite show will be able to take part in various singing or dancing activities too.

Taking a one day intensive course is a great way to learn the basic salsa steps, and do-able as a day out with friends - find another couple to go with you, for a fantastic day for four. The day will start with a typical Spanish welcome from salsa legend Alistair Sadler, founder of the pioneering Salsa Rapido technique which teaches dance students to salsa quickly and effectively.

Before you know it, you'll be counting your steps and be well on the way to being the next king of the dance floor. You'll have five hours of workshop to contend with, and up to twenty other couples joining you to dance. Effectively communicating the concepts and techniques which make salsa so special, Alistair is an excellent teacher and will have you ready to tackle a salsa club in no time.

An experience in a professional recording studio could be a dream come true for the other half of the population who choose the X Factor over Bruce Forsyth's quick wit on the other channel. Singing into a hairbrush in front of the mirror or in the shower could not be any further away.

With a six hour session in a recording studio, the possibilities are huge. You'll have the experience and assistance of an experienced producer and engineer on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly and sort out your backing tracks. This will give you the chance to concentrate on belting out the lyrics of your chosen song.
