Industrial design happens to be popular in today's era.

By Jason Brickman

We watch numerous goods grow through the years. For example, television was peviously a 10-inch shaped box made out of wood. These days, we see TV's that are 55-inch with the use of LED (light-emitting diode) for the screen, and about the thickness no more than our pinky. This all can't be done without the assistance of industrial designers. They are the unsung heroes behind products we use everyday.

According to the LA Times, there are researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering in Germany who have created a virtual sky for office workers. The virtual sky is created using a luminous ceiling that produces a visual lighting affect that we usually see outdoors on a cloudy day. By all means, the industrial design of creating an extremely advanced product would cost around $1,300 per square yard.

The question that folks may ask is, "what's the good thing about having a virtual sky in an office?" Researchers stated that many of the workers do rather have the dynamic lighting of the clouds as a ceiling. It generates that atmosphere for each person, which may enhance their performance at work. As a matter of fact, researchers also declare that the virtual sky ceiling helps people stay focused and concentrated.

The ceiling itself is made by LED, which is combined with the colors of red, blue, green and white to make a fulfilled spectrum. Even though the prices can be a bit steep, the researchers at Fraunhofer believe that the costs will eventually decrease. This is definitely true as any type of material or product will end up as outdated or obsolete.

Industrial design will always be in demand. The main requirement of someone wanting to get into industrial design is that they need to have an innovative mind. Those that want to get into this field should also see the trends which are occurring in today's modern society, and anticipate the future where they can produce something worthwhile like a virtual sky.

Now and then we might feel that every possible thing has been made, however, what could we possibly think of in the mere future? Surprisingly enough, we're always amazed with brand-new gadgets, products, and many types of items that have been made by industrial designers. Gizmodo is a great site that reveals new products that haven't already been publicly launched yet for customers. As we can see, there's always a new invention. Sure competition may be a little bit high, but anything is attainable so long as you possess a imaginative mind.
