This short article is going to be the first of a set of manga lessons that will guide you through the task of how to sketch manga.

Even if you have never really been interested in manga articles, don't be so fast to write off these lessons.

You'll be astonish at just how much manga drawings apply to figure Illustrating and how much it use human anatomy. Just give these manga instructions a shot, and I promise you will be surprise at how much you'll find out and how much your Drawing skills will improve.

An Introduction To How To sketch Manga

To start off this manga tutorials series, I'd like to give a quick introduction to this art form of Drawing manga.

Manga originated from Japan. It is the motionless (comic book) cousin of anime, the animated version of manga.

The word "manga" literally translate to "quirky pictures." These fanciful pictures makes for a valuable story telling tool.

Since it's growth, manga art has turn out to be a international phenomenon, and it is particularly well known in the west.

Part of the reason manga art has become so fashionable among artists, even traditional figure Illustrating artists, is that it permits for amazing creative expressions. It's wild and absurd style also makes for some splendid art works.

It'simpacts are felt in hit films like Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away (2001) and even in films based on Frank Miller's work (the renounced founder of "300" and "Sin City")

Manga has also spread the animated world in the form of anime. This art form as spread into TV, movies, and other media. It is especially popular with young people. Today, it's almost impossible to go anywhere without seeing some sort of reference to manga or anime.

If you are a traditional artist, it would be to your advantage to at lease become familiar with this art form. Manga is huge and it is growing very fast. If you are a working artist, it is only a matter of time before you run in to a client who will want you to do some sort of manga influenced art project.

Besides this point, learning about drawing manga will also help you will other aspects of your art. There are many things about manga that could help you become a better overall artist. It will help give you another perspective on human figure drawing and drawing a portrait.
