The Digital Aviation Magazine Is Here To Stay

By Morton Meintjes

Aviation magazines have been around for many years and cover every topic imaginable regarding air travel. A aviation magazine will either focus on one particular issue or it will cover a broad range.

There is a lot more to aviation than just flying a plane that the average person doesn't know about which is why there is such a wide array of different publications out there. It also why the print publications are starting to get outdated by online publications. There is so much more a publisher can put online than put in print.

In this digital age it shouldn't come as a surprise that this is happening as there are so many other types of magazines online. Putting a publication such as this online makes perfect sense for quite a few reasons. Not the least of which is with all the wi-fi connections available just about everywhere you turn, the magazine of your choice will be with you everywhere you go.

Also, magazines can give you all the information available, but only the online version can make all that information interactive. If you have a question about a specific carrier for example, you can log onto a chat room where other people may be discussing the same topic in real time.

Some people pick up aviation magazines only periodically when they are traveling simply because they want to read something relevant to what they are doing. The people who do this also scan through the pictures of these publications to help bide their time.

Online versions of these periodicals also have pictures, but they can also take a step further and stream videos to their web site as well. For the part time aviation buff, there is only 1 thing better than still photographs of various aircraft, and that would be videos of the aircraft in a action.

There are also comprehensive business listings that cover every aspect of this industry. From sales to services to clubs and even training, you can find all this and so much more on the online version of these magazines. If you are going somewhere you've never been before you can also find information on the airport and the city that you are going to.

The layout of terminal for example is good information to know if you have never been there before and are pressed for time. Transportation services that the airport as well as the city provide is also need to know information that you get get online.

Perhaps the most important quality that an online publication has that its print counterpart does not, is that most of the information, the most pertinent information, you find is updated on a daily basis. Print can only be updated once a month as that is how often they are typically printed. The advantages here far outweigh any disadvantages there may be. Online aviation magazines are the wave of the future, so you may as well get on board today and take a test flight. It might be a little bumpy at first as you learn how to navigate it, but the ride will get smoother in time.
