Choosing Kichler Bathroom Lights, A Lesson For Beginners

By Danny Ricks

We all get it, who doesn't want to have a nice room to stay at? More often than not if we are beat, overly stressed and wanting to put behind the issues at the office. These days, it has become stylish and widespread for yuppies to spruce up their bathrooms and make it look like a hotel health spa. Who says only celebrities could emulate the feel of the spas like that in Bali, when you as an ordinary folk wouldn't have to use a lot of money in order to "revitalize" your bathroom? On the other hand, we have one drawback-restricted space. Apartments and condos in the city and even in the suburbs lack sufficient space for bathrooms. All the same, cramped spaces do not necessarily pose as a problem if you have an imaginative mind. The simple answer there is to make some changes with your bathroom lights.

Interior decorators share this secret: choosing the right pieces and putting them in the appropriate places would make your room (as in any part of the house) look wider and comfier. Mirrors for example are one of the most excellent ways to give the illusion of space. As well as the size of your decorations. Placement of lighting and accents also play an important part in using the space of your bathroom in the most efficient way. But first, we have to select the fitting lighting for your bathroom.

There are three kinds of lighting that is applicable as well for the rest of your room-task lighting, ambient lighting (also famous as general lighting) and accent lighting. Task lighting aids us with our every day tasks, for example, cooking, reading or for this matter grooming, brushing our teeth and applying makeup inside the bathroom. Kichler bathroom lights then are placed side by side the bathroom mirror, or over the vanity mirror to give us a clearer reflection. While ambient lightings on the other hand hold the heavier responsibility of emanating light to brighten up the whole expanse of the room. They can be chandeliers, hanging fixtures or a regular light bulb (or can be a combination of both), depending on a person's choice. If ever the general lighting leaves off a shadow, the accent lighting will tend to it. Hence lamps and wall scones are placed by the corners.

Then there are the types of bulbs we should also care about. Especially the type of lighting bulb for our bathroom mirror, for as much as possible, we want to have that crisp white light that will aid us in putting our cosmetics evenly and attractively. You can pick from halogen, fluorescent or incandescent light bulbs. But, as we are for "rehabilitating" our bathroom in the lowest cost as much as possible, halogen and fluorescent light bulbs are cheaper and yet could last three times to as much as ten times longer than the incandescent ones.

There are also dimmers, which helps us modulate the lighting in order to set the ambiance. Most people do not take heed much of this, but the use of dimmers could also lessen our energy consumption. You now understand most of the facts about bathroom lights and light bulbs, you could be certain enough to "revitalize" now your most beloved bathroom.
