Remove Wundaweb From The Clothing!

By John Dicosta

It is sometimes necessary to remove Wondaweb from clothing, for re-adjusting or to alter the length, but what is the best way to go about it? There are two best methods: -

1: Pressing: In this method one will need a soft, clean and damp pressing cloth which should be thoroughly damp and re-wet for each pressing with a hot iron.

a) With the soft, clean cloth cover the area of web to be removed.

b) After covering the cloth with a damp pressing cloth, start pressing the cloth with the hot and dry iron; until the soft cloth loses its damp.

c) The soft cloth should be rapidly raised from the fabric when it is considered to be really hot and damp. This will separate the undesirable wonderweb from the fabric.

d) In order to absolutely vanish the wunderweb or wundaweb from the cloth or make it softened to an acceptable level one has to repeat the above three actions.

Notes to be considered: A clean portion of cloth should be used for each pressing and care should be taken not to contaminate the fabric from other areas of the cloth already used for removing the web.

2. The Isotropy-Alcohol solution:

In this method you have to buy some milliliters of Isotropy-Alcohol. You can get it from the chemists and make its solution by adding 10% water of that quantity and gently warm up the solution. Use a soft cloth with the Isotropy-Alcohol solution to lightly dab the wundaweb affected portion of the cloth. Use a blotter to catch the surplus mixture. And then, you can repeat the step until the residue is vanished.

Important tips: Try the solution on a small piece of fabric first, do not use overall.

Wundaweb is a fine fusible fleece that bonds fabrics together quickly & easily, providing a natural firmly joined finish. It is perfect for many jobs and it can be removed. One can use it to repair trouser pockets mainly, and would recommend to any lady suffering with such tedious tasks. The wonderweb work on almost each fabric it can be used to put the hems on jeans and skirt like dresses too. It is described as extra strong and a person requires to simply put, a wundaweb is a soft nylon fleece that feels like gauze. It comes wrapped around a card for smaller lengths and in a roll kind of shape for longer lengths. It bonds the fabric together and is washable and dry cleanable.

May be the wondaweb or velcro hemming tape sticks on to the bottom of the iron plate. Then it should be immediately wiped clean with a dry cotton, or else it would leave residue marks on the plate of the iron. There would be the risk of having the same with any other cloth that will be ironed. And if the bonds have to be broken in order to again extend the curtain to fit longer lengths, then the damp will need to placed again, out a hot iron for 10 seconds, and just peeling apart the fabric would be left.
