How To Turn Into The New Rap Artists

By Farah Fan

Many known rap artists have been receiving the hip-hop scene for so long that they have seen performers come and go, and trends transform. But there has been one development that one said has disappointed him greatly, the young talents. There are not enough talented rappers out there right now. The voice of the young is not sufficiently strong in the game at all right now. It is almost nonexistent. While many performers have thrived in R&B and pop, high-profile success for rap performers has been more evasive lately.

Right from the start hip-hop has been viewed as a man's world, and discussions of inequality within the genre has come up often. In fact, many times such disrespect was the subject of many rappers' tracks. These days, with the music business having difficulties, there is a particular dearth of new rap performers taking center stage. It was a different hip-hop landscape when MC Hammer first burst on the scene. A new gangster rap crews scored some hits, but the arrival of this artist helped usher in performers. One rap artist was a teenager when he emerged, along with another artist, as one of the genre's first celebrity groups.

One said the music industry is so concentrated these days on the bottom line that there is little increased exposure of creating female talent. When you have this major organization that has been kind of absorbed by corporate hands, how required is the black woman's viewpoint. Not unless she is discussing being that kingpin's main girl and she is referring to nothing that is really going to cultivate the people the way are known innately as black women being able to do, there is really no space for that kind.

Many new artists have found it hard to navigate today's industry. It is a lot of youths trying to get into it, but most young rappers do not know what direction to take. They do not know whether to be a gun slinger for a gangster or a rival head, and they are confused as to what role they should take. It is something which has never been done before, no less than with such gusto. Some new rap artist has grown up listening to rap and has probably heard rap lyrics many, many times. He has now made the jump from listening to the lyrics to infusing it into his own music, a choice that has brought on much debate and discussion in the rap world.

New rap artists show few, if any, indications of growth. The genre's biggest celebrities all seem to be winding down in terms of sales. It has developed so bad for new artists, especially female, that the recording academy did away with the greatest female rap artist category of the Grammy Awards, two years after its inception, due to a shortage of eligible entries. The category was combined with best male rap artist to create the best rap solo performance field. The problem they had with the new kinds who have emerged is that they do not have a shred of talent.
