Holiday In Leeds England: Tour to England Cities

By John Roney

Leeds is deemed the "capital city" of Yorkshire and Humber, and with a growing population of more than 750,000 it is no wonder there are so many exciting things to see and do. Easily accessible by train or bus, and served by Leeds Bradford International Airport, the city is the perfect destination for a weekend trip for a lone traveller, couple, group or family.

We would always recommend France for skiing and especially the 3 Vallees, we stayed at Courchevel 1850 a few years ago, great place (try Le Bar Jump.. fantastic) but you do end up paying for the name a bit. Probably the best place in the 3 Vallees we have stayed so far is Val Thorens, it's the highest resort in Europe so the season starts earlier and ends later. It doesn't compare to villages and towns like Meribel and Le Praz for how pretty it looks but the runs into and out of Val Thorens are literally all around you, the prices are more reasonable and we found the most amazing restaurant with the best tasting food I've ever had in my life (sorry, can't remember the name of it)!

Outdoors.Leeds is less than 20 miles from the Yorkshire Dales National Park where the local countryside and wildlife have been left untouched. For an excellent look at life on the Dales throughout history, visit the dedicated Dales Countryside Museum in Hawes. If you are a nature lover, take a wander along one of the many paths with incredible views all around. Kids will appreciate the chance to run wild and try to spot animals. The Snaizeholme red squirrel trail starts just outside the museum.

The City of London, generally called 'The City' or 'the Square Mile' is Europe's centre for trade and commerce. It rivals New York as the World's finance capital and is a city where traders and business people work hard to make more revenue. The city is generally expensive for its busy life with business and operations. It is home to some grand hotels and restaurants. The city roughly borders the Londinium and hence has plenty of museums and sites to spend time in style.
