Aberdeen Scotland:A Dozen Pet Friendly Places to Stay in Aberdeen, Scotland

By John Roney

The great city of Aberdeen, the third most populous in all of Scotland, is nestled in a picturesque location along the coast of the North Sea and also happens to be the country's largest fishing port. Known fondly as the Golden Sands, the Silver City or the Granite City, Aberdeen is home to many major attractions that appeal to a wide ranges of tastes and interests. If you're interested in fine dining, some popular restaurants in Aberdeen include the Foyer Restaurant and Gallery located in the Copthorne Hotel and offering delicious cuisine along with great service, exquisite views, and fine works of art. Other favorites include the Rustico, specializing in Italian food, and Restaurant 21 on Market Street featuring reasonably priced foods and drinks.

As finding accommodation which allows pets can prove difficult we strongly advise that you book your hotel or guest house at the earliest opportunity. It is best to book up to five or six months in advance if you are planning a vacation in the summer months and this is most important when booking hotels in scotland as many places are booked up to a year in advance. The pet friendly Aberdeen hotels and guest houses listed below have stated that pats are allowed on request in their hotel policies as many do not charge extra I have made a point of highlighting those places which state otherwise.

Thistle Aberdeen Caledonian, The 4 star Caledonian (Union Terrace) is one of the most centrally located pet friendly hotels in the city. Charges may be applicable for pets. 77 rooms. Royal Hotel, The 2 star Royal (Bath Street) is right in the heart of the city. Charges may be applicable for pets. 42 rooms. This hotel states that due to it's central location it can suffer from external noise. Jurys Inn, The 3 star Jurys Inn is just minutes from the city center on Union Square Guild Street. Charges may be applicable for pets. 203 rooms. Express by Holiday Inn Aberdeen City Centre, This 3 star Express by Holiday Inn (Chapel Street) is less than half a mile from the city center, just off Union Street. 155 rooms.

As if all of this weren't enough, Aberdeen Scotland also boasts a total of 45 parks, gardens, and displays of colorful flowers causing the city to be the recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society's "Best City" award and Scotland's In Bloom competition many times throughout the years. Visit Duthie Park located on the northern bank of the Dee River and you'll have your pick of activities and sights to see including golf courses, areas for horseback riding, playing football, walking, picnicking, boating, fishing, and just enjoying all of the sights and sounds of nature.

When it comes to visiting Aberdeen Scotland, perhaps the best time of year to go, if you're interested in warm weather, is between the months of June and September. Since the city is situated on the coast, you can expect cool, windy conditions frequently.
