Tips On Planting Black Bamboo Plants In Pots

The fact that some individuals have no garden does not mean that they cannot have plants of their own. It is possible to carry out this activity in a container provided all the conditions required will be availed. Some indoor settings are decorated using indoor plants. There are important things that those who would like consider planting black bamboo plants in pots should know.

For the black bamboo to thrive, a lot of effort has to be put into it. Watering is a must and should always be done. The most appropriate time to carry it out is when there is no too much heat to reduce cases of the water evaporating. It should also be carried out using a special type of container perforated on the base to reduce the force of water coming out which may result to uprooting the plant.

The plant will need some support when growing. Some pebbles are carefully places on its base to support the stem. Any type of pebble can be used be it normal stones or others. A support stick may also be pinned inside the pot and the stem made to lie on it. Some strings may be used to enhance the support.

Light is needed by almost all types of plants. The black bamboo is no exception and it has to be provided with enough of it. The pot containing it should be placed in an area with enough sunlight. The place should only allow for enough of it since when availed in excess may result to a lot of heat which may dry the plant.

It is common to all plant being affected by pest or some diseases. They may end up dying if the required care is not taken up in the right time. The bamboo should be sprayed with pesticides to ensure that that its not affected by pest. Water can also be used to gently rinse the stems and leaves in cases where small insects such as spiders and aphids are seen.

Plants may grow to sizes that the pot holding them are not enough to sustain them anymore. Re-potting therefore has to be carried out. A lot of care needs to be taken when undertaking this activity. The plant ought to be uprooted with a lump of soil attached on its roots and replanted in the new port. Watering must be carried out so that the roots can get intact with the soil in the new port.

Weeds are likely to grow on the pot and hinder with the bamboo growth. Weed will compete for survival with plants and may lead to it drying or deteriorating in health. They are associated with pests and diseases. They are then weeded immediately they start growing. Care should also be taken not to mess with the bamboo roots.

Pruning is carried out whenever there is excess growth of leaves and stems. The weak one should be the ones to be pruned. It is undertaken by cutting them off. Care should also be taken to ensure that the main stems or healthy leaves are not affected in any way.
