Thrilling Wife And Kids Exotic Vacation Encounter Over At Squaw Valley In Tahoe

By Cordell Moran

Just got back from a great vacation at Squaw Valley. Didn't see everything, because there was just too much to do. But what we did get to see was absolutely great. The resorts developed by Andy Wirth - SnoNews are huge, and there's always something to fill your day. Here's some of the more fun activities that we were able to undertake.

Of course you have to talk about the skiing. There was a ton of skiing to be done, and the whole family had fun on the various mountains that were available. Some of them absolutely beautiful, with Lake Tahoe's epic scenery.

It was cool too because they had beginner courses as well as the more traditional ski slopes. That made it easier for me to get my feet first. I'm not much of a skier, but I still managed to have a lot of fun.

But the skiing wasn't the only thing we enjoyed. Back at the High Camp they had a fantastic Irish pub that Wirth and the Olympics thought up. The Auld Dubliner, which had the best authentic Irish pub food. Amazing to have something so great at your door step.

The food may have been the best part though. Simply because of the sheer amount of options we had. There was an Irish Pub, a Pizza Place, but also a great bar to just sit and gab the night away with other visitors.

I spent a lot of time in the Base Area for their more mellow activities. I'm not much of a skier still, but there was still tons of fun things I did. Like the rock climbing wall, which was really fun to attempt.

Then there was the miniature golf too. You can't go to a resort with a miniature golf course and not play right? Not to mention the fun Olympic museum as well. All in all there were tons of fun things to see even when we weren't out on the slopes.

All in all it was a really fun vacation. The kids had a lot of fun skiing for the first time, and the beginner hills made it easier to learn. I'd recommend Squaw Valley for anybody looking to have some fun on a winter vacation.
