Proper Way Of Taming Curcumas

By Linda Hayes

Plants generally makes the entire house atmosphere different. Aside from keeping it fresh and lovely, it also accentuates the entire home making it welcoming in vibe or appealing to look at. Adding flowers is ad additional way to even beautify the garden. Those who are looking for a tropical plant to grow during summer season which would highly make the entire place looking elegant, try planting curcuma flower. These plants has several shades that is perfectly vibrant and could add fine accent to the other plants in the garden. They too are not that hard to grow and care for.

In fact compared to other tropical plants, this one is pretty much amongst those which can be grown quite easy and less irritating. They love the sun and the warm weather as they grow and bloom during those times on the year. To ensure that one can still see them bloom during such time of the year, be sure to follow some tips on growing them.

It basically has the capability to be grown by its own but adding these with other floral plants could give a unique accent to it. When curcumas are exposed to cold weather long enough, they normally would not make it and when they die, they typically are not growing back on the ground unless they are planted back again.

If there are curcuma at home and it is about to be winter season, try placing them on a temporary pot for the meantime. Then be sure to leave or place it on areas which are frost free. That could prolong their longevity until the sun is out and back.

For those who are planting such flowers for the very first time, there is no specific way of trying to plant them. They just have to ensure all factors which would promote a healthy environment for them is met like the location or space they are placed. They may get or be exposed to direct sunlight without no issues at all. However, if the soil is dry then try keeping them in a shade instead.

To make the quality of soils be better than it is now, try adding some organic matters in it. It could be a compost or anything which is fairly accessible. For those sand and clay type of soil, be sure to add the organic matter right before the planting of the plant is done so that the quality of soil they stand on can be of great help for their growth.

Water curcumas regularly. They have to make sure they do that extra keenly especially if the shade they place their plant in is not reachable by natural rain. Also, adding fertilizer on them during spring or summer is such a huge help in keeping them healthy. But be sure to follow the recommended amount of fertilizer to be added based on what is written at its container.

Pruning curcuma would be perfect during autumn. This is basically when the foliage dies back, pruning on such season would keep the garden looking a bit fresher and neat.

If you want to keep it looking really clean, deadheading it is possible. Although, it is not necessary at all because the flower could grow even if it is surrounded with faded ones. Deadheading it would only make them look appealing and it has nothing to do with their constant development.
