Coordinating Full Time Work And School

By Carol Bell

It is never easy to work and study at the same time. People even find it difficult to fry an egg while talking on the phone, and there are so many other distractions in your life which make this complicated. Full time work and school is especially difficult when you have a family that you have to deal with. There are always problems that crop up here, and it is important to be aware of this, even though you are focused on your studies.

It is never easy, but it is possible when you have the right mind set. When you have adopted a negative attitude and you continue to tell yourself that you are not going to get through the work or you are not coping at work, then this plays in your mind until it comes true.

Other people decide that they want to go on to enrol into a university or a college. This will help their career. It will help them with various promotions and it will give them more confidence. A lot of people just feel stuck in what they are doing and need a change. However, it is not easy to support yourself. Full time work is needed.

Many people become overwhelmed because everything happens at once. When you don't have a routine or a schedule, you will really struggle. You need to know what is happening every day. There can be something that crops up which you have forgotten about and this will simply throw you.

People who are focused and who get their work done quickly will find that life is easier to manage. However, not everyone is a speed reader. That said, it is possible to improve your reading speed. There are programs and exercises that you can do. You can usually download some of these. Some of them are very successful. They won't only help you during your studies, but they will help you in life.

Burnout can be dangerous because you have to take time off work as well as a large majority from your classes. The best method is finding a practical solution. A life coach can help you during a time like this because he or she will come up with a plan which is best suited to you. Therapy will not be the most accurate solution because you won't benefit by simply talking about what is bothering you.

Having a coach during this period can be useful because you will report back to them and discuss more about your stress levels. There may be times where you are coping, and there are other times where you may be struggling with overwhelming situations since everything could be happening at once.

It is also important to let your family members and close friends know what you have begun to take on. If you keep this quiet, they will soon notice a change in behaviour and this can be frustrating for them. They will have more compassion for you when you are straight with them. A lot of support can come from these types of connections. Group support can also be something to think about.
