Fun Daytime Things To Do In Rome For An Experience You Will Never Forget

By Virginia Allen

It is not easy to find a city which offers so much in terms of an experience that offers so many daytime activities. Usually you will find that there are a couple of museums open. You may be able to take a bus ride around town. You can usually hire a bike and ride around the city. However, in most cases, the city will come to life at night. An exception, of course being Rome. There are fun daytime things to do in Rome which will leave you with an experience that you won't forget for many years to come.

While it is is great to get out and about on the cobbled walkways in the evenings and explore fantastic Italian cuisine, there is plenty of opportunity to entertain yourself during the day. People usually end up coming back from a trip saying they wished they had more time to spend in this beautiful city.

When you are ready to take a breather, there is always time to relax on the Spanish steps. Crowds gather here, snacking on a slice of pizza as they watch the crowds. Another great place to chill out is the Piazza Navona. This is not only relaxing, but it will leave you entertained as street performers pass by and creative artists display their masterpieces.

Of course, you could just enjoy this type of experience every day. There are markets to go to. This is a great way to explore more about the culture. You can talk to the people with your limited vocabulary. You can walk amongst the crowds and sample foods. However, don't become too relaxed while living like a local. You still have to keep in mind that there are plenty of attraction out there simply can't be missed.

Spending a day wandering around doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg. Of course, there are tours that will guide you through museums and you will have to pay entrance fees. But you can also avoid this and simply soak in the atmosphere. The crowds gather on the Spanish steps, eating a slice of pizza or licking an ice cream.

Don't forget the cuisine associated with this fine city. There is a major history that goes back to the creation of the pizza. It is best to visit a small pizzeria that is owned by a family where you will be able to talk to them and you will really be cared for as a local. The bigger touristy restaurants and bistros are geared towards the foreigners. There is not a lot that you can learn from an experience like this.

Once you have got to know your way around, you will have a better idea of the city and how to get from one point to another. There are walking tours available as well as longer tours. It can be to the advantage of the single traveler who is looking for a little company but also feels that they need space at the same time.

There are so many churches and other architectural buildings that will leave you spellbound. Take a stroll around the city and you are more than likely to come across one of these beautiful churches in the area. Catholics attend services, which can obviously be memorable. This is something else to consider.
