Digital Printing Has Started Taking The World By Storm

By Timothy Walker

Whether you're in a panic because you need thirty-two copies of your presentation for tomorrow's board meeting (and your awesome personal assistant is off sick and naturally, she's the only one in the building that knows how to work the printer) or whether you need your fifteen company vehicles wrapped for the new re-branding function next month, never fear because your digital printing in Syracuse, NY specialists are near!

Clothes maketh the man: A nice idea is to have customized clothing for employees. You can brand t-shirts, overalls, and button-up shirts with your company logo. The process for this digital garment processing method begins with you supplying the printer with the file containing the image that you would like to have printed onto the item of clothing.

Doing an offset print is when the ink image is transferred from rollers or a plate onto a surface. This newer way of executing the job doesn't soak into the surface the way that traditional methods do. Instead, it just deposits the ink onto the surfaces and them fuses it with either heat or UV.

Printing on light colored fabrics is faster because dark color fabrics need to be treated with a base coat of white ink so that the colors will show up properly. Each piece of clothing should be steamed to remove any creases (which could be disastrous if discovered after the job has been completed!). After the item of clothing has gone through the process, sometimes needing about three layers of ink, it has to dry.

Once the process is done, the clothing should go through a quality inspection before being handed over to you. An effective advertising method is to use wrap designs on your company vehicles. Not only will they stand out, but everywhere your vehicles go, they conveniently have your company name and contact details right in line of sight of any prospective customer.

The design of the vehicle wrap should be handled by the professionals, with some input from you, of course. The files are created in specialized software, are usually very large and take longer to create than those required for normal digital printed media. Once you've approved the design and artwork, these files are printed on vinyl and laminated.

Before making your final decision about digital prints, please keep in mind that there are down sides to this sort of job. As the user can't use Pantone colors, the color accuracy and vibrancy is less than that of going with the offset model. The amount of printed material should also bear weight on your decision: typically, going with the offset option will be faster and cheaper per unit if you need huge volumes of over 500 units.

Go big or go home: if your advertising budget pockets are fairly deep, wouldn't it be great to print something huge with your company name on it? Your options could range from wall printing (like wallpaper) to Courtwrap (for the floors) or perhaps a billboard or even a building wrap! Whatever you decide, don't delay - get looking for digital job executions in Syracuse, NY today!
