When we talk about vegetables, we all know that there is a harvesting season. But when harvesting season nearly ends, we all know that those vegetables will start to wind down. There are those major users of such vegetables who needs to a have a good number so they could potentially continue their business processes.

A very common vegetable most of us use in our kitchen is the one and only garlic. There are some that we may use in all the meals we have to cook. But when their season soon ends, it will be good for you to start storing slowly so you still have something to use when the next harvesting comes. Because of these, below are tips on how to store garlic and how to keep it fresh.

You should always remember the correct ways of selecting the garlic you will use. First, look at its bulbs. Dont buy the ones that shows damaged, soft, or is still sprouting parts. You truly need those undamaged ones because you may use all of it for long term purposes.

Place all your garlics inside your unused mesh bags or to your unused loose woven baskets. These are the ones which you will see in the markets. Both of it can effectively help those garlics to breathe properly and keep looking good. Others have these very flexible tops which you may braid together and then hang somewhere in your beloved kitchen.

You could also store it inside your fridge. Place them in your fridge and inside its crisp drawer. This place will help keep the humidity off from causing problems to the body parts of your vegetable. But remember when you take it out and place under room temperature, it will sprout after several days. Thus, only take it out when you really have to use it.

You can even place those in the freezer. But most people would think that frozen garlics are never going to be great like the fresh ones. But you could always do some preparations to make it stay fresh on the day that you will use it. Mince the peeled cloves in a blender and freeze it over ice cube trays or silicone sheets. As it froze, move it to an airtight container.

You may even make your very own dehydrated garlic. This is just easy. Slice thinly your peeled garlic then pop those slices to a food dehydrator or oven but keep the door ajar. If you use the oven, maintain a good 115 degrees temperature. Once all of them are crisp, store them in airtight container. This could be stored in room temperature and can be good for many months.

You can also roast it. Most of the users of such vegetable are happier in this kind of process. This is mainly because all of them can just freeze it after roasting. It will be good for the longest time you could possibly think of. People usually like this because they got to roast garlics when they use it.

There are many ways for you to keep this specific vegetable always fresh and always good. All of these things are the common ones used by the people worldwide. Follow them and you can definitely enjoy this specific for a small long time.
