By Coleen Torres

The moment you see one mole, most probably, there are several others within that area. You may not notice the damage they cause in your garden right away, but the moment you will twist your leg after stepping on a sinkhole is when you will know that there are visitors in your lawns and gardens. If you want to eliminate them, you can use the best mole trap. Moles, if allowed in the yards and gardens, they will cause a trail of damage.

Moles are terrestrial animals and you will find them on land. In addition, they are subterranean and live underground where they dig a network of holes, chambers, and tunnels. One way in which you can identify if there is a mole within your garden is just by looking at the tunnels they have dug and the dirt mounds, which they are creating under the chambers.

Besides, they are subterranean meaning they mostly live underground. They are so adapted to the underground environment that they can stay in areas with less oxygen level such as the tunnels and holes. A single mole can bring a very devastating destruction within your gardens. This is why it is important that when you see them, you consider removing them as soon as possible.

It can be pain painful and it is essential you seek ways of eliminating the creatures causing those troubles. Even with a single mole, it could turn that elegantly manicured lawn into piles of dirt and a mess of tunnels. Often, with moles, when you see one, most probably you are dealing with several of them.

As they go along their normal feeding routines, moles will dig tunnel one after another. What may be seen are piles of dirt and great mess of underground chambers. On the surface, you only see the holes and the heap of soils that have been dug from the ground, but what you may not realize is that, there is an expansive network of holes and chambers that have already been dug.

On the other hand, there are also repellents designed to keep the moles away. These are sold as vibrating machines which emit sound or as sprays, but they also tend to be ineffective. The only effective way is thus by using the traps. When using these traps, ensure you set them properly and in the current location where moles are feeding.

However, they will wreck havoc on the roots when they are creating the tunnels looking for meals. The digging of tunnels is what makes the grass to wither and dry because the roots are either cut off or exposed and freed from the soils where they get nutrients. The damage, which can be caused by this little creature, is very unimaginable and they can be difficult and stubborn to eliminate.

It may require you to spend some days examining their movements in order to discover, which tunnels they are using to get in and get out. At times, you might have to set some cameras to take footage especially at night. Understanding the whole network of the tunnels and how moles use the chambers, can help in ensuring that you set the trapping tools in the right place.
