A Guide To Installing Garden Fountains

By Lana Bray

Having a great big garden is really nice because then one would be able to admire it and walk around in it when he has absolutely nothing to do. Of course it is only natural that he would want to beautify it and fill it up with all kinds of decorations that will make it look spectacular. One of the really great things to put up in gardens would be some garden fountains.

Now the top priority of things for one to do would be to assemble a team of able men who know a bit about constructions and handiwork. When the team is assembled, they should start the installation by making a hole that is three inches deep and can fit the fountain. After that, they should dig up another three inch hole in the middle of the original hole.

After that, one should get some stone dust along with small rocks and mix them all up to create a mixture of both components. The ratio of the mixture would be twenty percent small rock and eighty percent stone dust along with some water. The whole purpose of this mixture is to act as a leveler for the ground so that the base is not lopsided.

Once the ground has been leveled properly, then now would be the time to grab the base of the fountain and place it into the hole. Now sometimes the ground would still not be leveled which would make the base lopsided a little bit. When this happens, just add more of the mixture to the uneven portion.

When the base has already been secured on to the hole, the next thing to do would be to put in the electric pump. In order to secure the pump to the ground, first dig up a small hole and push the chord inside until it comes up from the base. Then get hold of the drain plug and stick it into the drain hole.

After that, take the fountain top and place it on top of the base. From there, take the chord where the water comes out and install it on to the very tip of the fountain top. In order to do this, one must place the chord under the fountain top and push it until it reaches the tip.

Once the pump has already be fastened into its rightful place, the last thing to do would be to secure every part so that nothing is loose. From there, go down to the store and buy a solar base so that one can plug in the chord for the electric pump. Once the plug has already been put in place, then the fountain will now be ready for work.

So for those who have never done this before, then take a look at this guide to installing garden fountains. Take note that it is crucial that one has all the right tools and equipment for the job. Also, there should be a lot of helping hands that can aid with this process because all the lifting can be very tiring.
