Styles For Black And Short Natural Hair

By Darren Hartley

Black natural hair styles can look either rosy or nerve-wracking from the other side. Low maintenance hairdos are a dream when it comes to shaving time off the morning grooming sessions. Once some inches are gained, cleansing, detangling and styling, more often than not, take at least as long as it did when the hair is relaxed.

A woman will not necessary save on cost if she decides to maintain black natural hair styles. While it's true she will be saving on salon costs, she will however be incurring additional product costs. To top it all, since different products offer different results on different hair textures, finding the right products and routines for a particular hair texture involves a lot of trial and error.

Some black natural hair styles may not be welcomed with open arms in work environments that gear toward conservative policies. Hair grown from the head as-is may face discrimination in some workplaces. Jobs that have dress codes might frown on natural hair styles like braids and locks, considering them as extreme hairdos.

Comb coils or comb twists are short natural hair styles even for super short tresses. They work on hair as short as an inch. A rat tail comb and pomade or gel are all a woman needs to create this hair style. Styling coils with the fingers is also an option for this hair style.

Included among short natural hair styles are bantu knots. They can either be created with simple, basic parts travelling from the front to the back of the hair or done with a bit of fancy by designing diamond-shaped hair patterns. Gel or pomade can be used to gently twist small sections of the hair into knots.

Other short natural hair styles not requiring very long hair are twists. Having hair that is two inches long is enough for this hairstyle. Directing the twists to where they are wanted to fall, either toward one side or toward the back, will create a more controlled look to the twists.
