Another approach is the contemporary or informal photography, which is the most popular nowadays since it has a little of both styles. They can capture the significant parts of the wedding as well as the little moments that not everybody sees.

There are also other styles that a few people prefer, like glamor shots, which is a fashion based approach to the shoot. They are mostly inspired by the style they can see in high end magazines which involve innovative and heavy post processing of the images. These are usually done in a studio and has a hairstylist or make up artist to help the camera man.
