Although tiny Tasmania is often overlooked by visitors to Australia, the area has a lot to offer visitors. Steeped in rich cultural and culture, this is the perfect destination to take in a how or enjoy decadent dining. People who decide to move to Tasmania for the climate and lifestyle will soon be wondering why they never made the move before.

Hobart is the main settlement on Tasmania. Although this is technically a city, the settlement has a strong community feel. The people who live there are warm and welcoming, and visitors are made to feel right at home.

Travelers who are looking to take a break from big cities are sure to feel right at home in Hobart. This small settlement is surrounded by intense natural beauty, and taking a trip to nearby Mount Wellington is a great way to unwind. Views of the mountain can also be enjoyed from a large number of locations around Hobart.

Those that are looking for more lively entertainment will also find that Hobart has a lot to offer. Party people will be able to strut their stuff in an impressive assortment of nightclubs. Many of the large venues heat up at around midnight and remain open until the early hours of the morning.

The waters around Tasmania are also ideal for people who want to practice water sports. A number of local companies offer scuba diving and snorkeling trips. Sailing is also an excellent way to fully appreciate the natural beauty of this charming island.

Of course, no trip would be complete without doing a spot of shopping. There are plenty of great bargains to be snagged at traditional markets. People who want to cool down for a while can also browse for bargains in air-conditioned shopping malls.

However, the great thing about Tasmania is that it is distinctly cooler than most parts of Australia. Cool ocean breezes add a pleasant air to even the warmest days. The warmest and driest months of the year are typically January and February.
