The Qinghai-Tibet Railway

This is probably the number one train journey in China. This is the highest railway in the world with some parts at altitudes of around 16,000 feet; it also passes through some really breathtaking landscapes. The famous Himalayan Mountains can be seen during this journey as well. Although the entire journey will take two and a half days to complete, you will be so glad that you did it because you will remember it for the rest of your life.

Bangkok to Singapore

For more superb scenery, you should take a trip on the Bangkok to Singapore railway line. When you travel along this railway line you will pass through cities and rural areas and it will allow you to see the real Southeast Asia. You can make this trip in just over 24 hours but there is no direct train; you need to make two train changes. Bangkok and Singapore are the capitals of this part of the world and travelling between them is not to be missed.

Trans-Siberian Express

This is arguably the most famous rail journey in the world. It is well known for being the longest train journey in the world taking in the 6,000 kilometres from Moscow to Vladivostok. This trip takes a full week to complete so you should make sure that you have brought enough entertainment along with you. You are sure to meet some wonderful people on this journey and you will get to see some amazing sights.
