Faux Fur Blanket: Not Just For The Bedroom

By Christine Martin

Want the feel and luxury of a fabulous fur throw without all the hassle? A faux fur blanket is definitely the way to go. Now you can have all the benefits with none of the guilt.

If you are wondering how to best display your incredible new cover, there are several options. Gone are the days when blankets were only for the bed. Now, a faux fur blanket thrown across the back of a couch or chair can really dress up a room. Best of all, with all different 'animal' options out there, you can create just the look you need to match your current decor.

Looking for a fancy white throw to show off in your room? Think white rabbit, sheepskin, or a soft white mink. Either of these would look great. Just pick the feel and look that best suits your taste. Remember that as different animals have different furs, a different faux fur blanket will match that different feel. There are options that range from long and fuzzy to short and super soft. And a whole lot of options in between.

Want an awesome faux fur that reminds you of your favorite animal? Those are available too. Timber Wolf, Polar Bear, and Leopard are only a few of the great many options for you to choose from.

Black bear, panther, and black minks are great options if your decor needs a dark throw. For brown, you might like our own favorite, the coyote. A coyote blanket is a wonder way to set off a rustic decor.

Do you love to snuggle in front of the fireplace? These are wonderful for romantic evenings. Just lay your cover on the floor in front of the warm and cozy fire and add a nice bottle of wine for a truly romantic feel. There just isn't anything that add to the romance like the soft feel of faux fur against your skin.

Just looking for something soft and warm to cuddle up with? These work great for that too.

Most of these blankets come with a lining. The lining can range from silk or velvet to a more rustic flannel option. You will want to be sure to check what lining, if any, your blanket has before buying. (Some have that fabulous furry feel on both sides.)

Even today, though, blankets are still put to good use in bedrooms. Covering a bed with a great throw is a wonderful option. And it doesn't matter what color your room or decor is, either. You can always find a perfect matching faux fur throw.

But a furry throw would be hard to clean, right? Nope. Not these little gems. Of course you need to read the manufacturer's label of the blanket, but most of these are made with fabrics that can be easily washed and dried right in your own laundry room. Beautiful and easy to care for, who could ask for more?

And the absolute best thing of all? An animal gets to keep its fur, and you still get a fabulous faux fur throw. A win-win situation for everyone involved. No guilt required!
