Finding The Best Bay Area Architectural Photographer

By Elaine Guthrie

There are some misconceptions that are held by some people. Some of the misconceptions among the people are that anyone can take a good photograph as long as they have a great photograph. This is far from the truth. This usually is because different photographers usually have different gifts and skills. The same way a doctor cannot work as an accountant. They also specialize; some are good at taking wedding photos while others are better taking photos of landscape. This normally is one of those important things you need to keep in mind when choosing a bay area architectural photographer.

When deciding on the one you will pick there are so questions that you need to ask. Like if they sell their photographs royalty free. If they do charge a royalty you will have to pay a little amount for every time you do use their photos. This can add up over the years making it very expensive in the end. It is best to choose one that does not charge for the use of their picture.

Apart from being gifted at taking great photographs he will need a bigger skill set. Some of the skills that he will need in his business are the skills of retouching and enhancing photos. This is where they use enhancements on photos to make them look better. This is an important skill that will set him apart from the rest.

In any service industry, experience is great. A photo taken by a newbie in the business and that taken by a person with years of experience will not look the same. The one taken by the experienced one will be looking much better than that taken by the newbie. This is because in his years of experience he has learnt many skills and he has learnt how to handle difficult situations with ease.

One of the worst experiences would seeing your competitor using photos that you had taken. This only happens if you choose a photographer that sells stock photos. They usually just make your photos look more generic and then they sell them. They usually get some extra income for these photos. To avoid being in a situation like that you need to make sure that the one you choose does not sell stock photos.

You should ask for the names of the companies in their list of clients. This can tell a lot about the work a person does. When they are starting out they will be working for small companies. If their client list consists of huge companies then it only shows that they do a good work if they can work for such large companies.

Most of the photographers are usually very busy and they are not always in a position to pick your calls. They should call you shortly after and they should also reply your emails fast without much delay. This ensures a good relationship with the client.

Their reputation should never be over looked. Their testimonials are very important. You should get to hear what others say about his work. If he does meet tight deadlines and if he is dependable. They should be easy to work with.
