Creating Colorful Spaces With Metal Garden Art

By Catalina Nielsen

A colorful, fragrant garden can be a place of beauty, serenity, and meditation. It can add not only to the interest and beauty of an outdoor space, but when properly coordinated with metal garden art, it can be transformed into a work of art. Such art ranges in appearance from small flowers, and birds, butterflies and bees, to angels, suns, or small wind mills. Art not only provides contrast to gardens, and outdoor spaces, but is also fun and creative to include.

Small flowers, leaves, or an ensemble of birds, farm animals, frogs, cats, elves and fairies are perfect for sitting in gardens, or as yard decorations. Life-size flowers make perfect yard sculptures, as do cows, geese, dogs and cats, girls and boys, and a wide range of other metal art. Almost any animal, plant or flower can be made into a piece of yard art.

Some outside art is right for placing with flowers, and other pieces are better for placing in yards to create an unusual, and eye-catching, outdoor scene. This creates interest, and a type of yard art that won't compare to the neighbor's, especially when arrangements are coordinated into a colorful, and imaginative scene.

In addition to scenes, metal ball trees can be placed in wooden planters and placed near other plants, or near an art arrangement. These trees are artful, with small glass balls, resembling small marbles and bulbs on Christmas trees. Branches bend in curl into an artistic arrangement of not only color, but also creativity, style and design. Blues, purples and other colors can be used. Other items can be placed on them, such as ribbons, or hanging bees, or butterflies. They can also be used as an outside decoration piece for holidays.

Another creative idea, are ball stakes, which is very similar to trees, and uses the same concept. These are simply a branch of a tree, with balls, which are put in the ground next to flowers or colored grass. They are meant to add a color explosion, while also serving as a creative way to decorate yards.

Other interesting ideas are humming birds in flower gardens, light houses, metal hula girls or decorative mermaids. Silhouette objects also make for interesting and artful yard pieces. Girls, with watering cans, leaning over gardens not only are artful, but create imagination, and illusion. Squirrels eating nuts, also create a fun summer scene.

Steel, mesh balls on stakes that resemble purple poppies can be placed in a pattern in the yard to further add to the illusion. These can be placed in front of contemporary flower and leaf art, such as larger sunflowers, and bigger leaf flowers to create a garden of its own. Using such pieces can also take a hard to fill, or boring space and transform it into an eye-catching work of art.

This is especially true when art is strategically placed in the yard and coordinated with other pieces. There are many styles and ways to use metal garden art to create unusual outdoor arrangements that will perfectly compliment any garden. They will also bring to life any yard.
