What You Should Know About Unique Bird Houses

By Alison Wilcox

Bird lovers always want to find ways to bring birds closer to where they dwell. They put up bird house after bird house to entice the little guys to make nests and reside there as well. Most folks want to have dwellings for the birds that are just as beautiful and amazing as the creatures themselves. They are in search of unique bird houses.

If you are looking for something outside of the norm, then a more unique approach is required. There are several internet sites on the internet that sell some very elaborate bird houses. Bird houses these days come in many shapes and sizes.

They can be found that look like farm houses, barns, and hot air balloons. You can even find much fancier ones. They can look like castles, gazebos and many other things. You will see them made from many kinds of reusable objects. Boots, old wagons and even tin cans have been made into bird houses.

Perhaps you want to make a certain theme in your yard. Arranging them in a specific way or purchasing them with a certain look could achieve this. They always look spectacular when set in a garden.

Some people will find themselves sitting and wondering if they are the only ones who like to collect these amazing birdhouses. They sometimes wonder who collects them and just what these people are like. Perhaps they would like to know what area of the world others like themselves live in.

In Salem, a woman can be found there who has a quite extensive collection of bird houses. While most of them are just recycled Christmas tree ornaments, some are decorations from Halloween. There is a fish that hangs up one of her trees that has been converted into a home for the birds. If you ever find yourself in the area of Salem, Massachusetts, go on over to Hawthorne Blvd and take a peak at her collection. She has around fifty of them suspended from two trees in her yard. You can't miss them. She most likely wont part with them though.

If you would rather build your own unique bird house then you will surely find a video or two on how that can provide some insight if you need it. You will need to get together any supplies and items that will be used during the construction. Unless you are really good with woodworking, you should probably steer clear of wood.

If you choose a recycled item, be sure that will leave ample space for the little guy that will soon inhabit it. You are going to want to clean it so just simply mix a little bleach with water. Three parts water to one part bleach to be exact. Next just wipe the inside and outside with a sponge dipped in the bleach and water mix.

When you're ready to start the painting process, you are going to want to make sure that the paint you have is OK for birds. Whatever way you decide to decorate it with is perfectly OK as long as the items you have chosen are safe for your tiny feathered friends. Decals are perfect and can make a quite unique design too.

Increasing popularity has come over unique bird houses lately. There are millions of them sold every day. They also make a good hobby. Whether you build or buy one, you are sure to truly enjoy them and your future tenant too.
